Kalaya menu: bird dumplings, flower dumplings or rice cups?

A bird shape and a flower shape conceal different fillings. Cod with preserved radish, ground chicken with cucumber and chili, and mushroom-and-bamboo rice cups give you three distinct starting points.

Only three dumpling examples. Wider almond-meal dietary tags conflict with fish sauce, and tasting rows are not separate dishes. Saved EN/ZH/ES; confirm recipes and handling.

Choose filling before shape

Compare cod and preserved radish, chicken with cucumber and chili, or rice cups with mushrooms and bamboo.

Cod and preserved radish

kanom jeeb nok

Both sources and the saved entry name bird-shaped dumplings with caramelized cod and preserved radish. Choose this fish filling rather than inferring ingredients from the shape; no seafood-free alternative is established.

Chicken with cucumber and chili

shaw muang

Both sources name flower-shaped dumplings with ground chicken, cucumber and Thai chili. The shape is not a vegetable-filling cue, and the brief listing does not establish measured heat or a complete wrapper recipe.

Mushrooms and bamboo shoots

jui guay

Both sources describe steamed rice cups with shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots and spicy sweet soy sauce. Their cup format differs from the filled bird and flower dumplings; rice does not certify gluten-free sauce or preparation.

Compare filling, format and sauce

Make the shortlist specific before choosing a broader meal.

  1. 01

    Decide fish, chicken or mushrooms

Choose cod, ground chicken or shiitake-and-bamboo as the central listed filling. Do not choose flower-shaped dumplings assuming they contain only vegetables.

  2. 02

    Notice the rice-cup sauce

Jui guay explicitly names spicy sweet soy sauce. The rice format does not remove that accompaniment; confirm ingredient and handling requirements directly.

  3. 03

    Check complete-meal labels separately

The wider Nam Prik Almond has vegan/vegetarian tags despite an eggplant accompaniment whose saved description contains fish sauce. It is excluded; a plant-led centerpiece alone does not certify the full meal.

Before opening the wider list

Is Nam Prik Almond a verified vegan meal?

No. Saved tags say vegan/vegetarian, but its eggplant accompaniment is separately described with fish sauce. This guide excludes it and does not correct those labels.

Are tasting instructions extra dishes?

No. The saved list includes course selection rows and repeats Shaw Muang and Gui Chai. Do not interpret all 41 parsed entries as unique dishes.

Does the flower dumpling have chicken?

Yes. The selected regular Shaw Muang entry and both reviewed sources explicitly name ground chicken; the tasting repetition has a less specific description.
