Supper menu: translate the pasta name into a choice

Aglio, olio e peperoncino names garlic, oil and chili; pomodoro e basilico names tomato and basil. Start with that difference, then compare accompaniments rather than assuming every pasta has the same sauce.

Three sauce and accompaniment comparisons

Compare the full listed combination.

Garlic-oil-chili or tomato-basil

Two spaghetti directions

These names distinguish the sauce direction while keeping spaghetti as the format. The dinner source separately offers stracciatella mozzarella on the tomato pasta; it is an addition, not the base order.

Prosciutto-cheese accompaniment or bread salad

Polenta is not just cornmeal

The saved polenta lists prosciutto, parmesan and fennel with balsamic and olive oil. Panzanella lists grilled bread, tomato, kale, capers and red-wine vinegar. Compare the full combination, not only the vegetable or grain.

Piave or Pecorino Toscano

Two cheese-topped salads

The fennel salad names Piave and arugula; the mushroom salad names Pecorino Toscano, celery, lemon and parsley. Cheese remains part of both named combinations.

Before adding to the order

Read section headings and optional additions.

  1. 01

    Separate additions from the base

The mixed salad offers prosciutto or buffalo mozzarella separately. Priest Stranglers separately offers sausage; do not assume it is included.

  2. 02

    Keep soup and risotto separate

The source has daily soups and daily risotto in different sections. A soup name does not describe the risotto served alongside that day.

  3. 03

    Read the zucchini side

Zucchine Tagliatelle means the zucchini-ribbon side here, with garlic, oil and toasted almonds; it is separate from the tagliatelle pasta.
