Suraya menu: mezze and the grill

Choose your dinner format before building a list of dishes. Then compare beef kebab with hummous, chicken with garlic sauce and potatoes, or mushrooms with white beans. Suraya’s mezze add another decision: raw preparations, warm dishes and dips are not interchangeable.

Three mains with different accompaniments

Read what comes with the main before adding another side. These are comparisons, not ranked favorites.

Ground beef with hummous

Kafta Kebab

The beef kebab entry names cumin, mint, parsley and onion, with hummous and charred vegetables. Compare it with Halabi Kebab, which uses ground lamb brushed with muhammara. Changing between them changes the protein and the walnut-containing spread, not just the name.

Whole grilled poussin with potatoes and toum

Djej Meshwi

This chicken entry names a whole poussin marinated with sumac, lemon, garlic and thyme, with charred potatoes and toum. Compare that combination with the kebab’s hummous and vegetables. Confirm portion suitability with staff rather than treating one whole bird as a fixed number of diners.

Mushroom kebab with white beans

Fasolia Bi Fatar

The oyster-mushroom kebab comes with braised white beans, watercress, almond and radish. It offers a mushroom-and-bean direction compared with the meat kebabs. Mujadara instead centers rice and lentils with vegetables and shugg; read both complete recipes before drawing dietary conclusions.

Build the order around format and preparation

Use the menu’s distinctions to avoid choosing the same accompaniment twice.

  1. 01

    Confirm the dinner format first

The official PDF includes A Taste of Suraya, a whole-party format with table mezze, further mezze and grill choices, and a chef-selected dessert. Confirm whether that format applies to your meal before ordering separate dishes. SeEat’s captured item list does not describe every set-menu rule.

  2. 02

    Choose raw or cooked intentionally

Kibbeh Nayyeh explicitly contains raw lamb and bulgur; Samke Nayyeh names raw yellowtail and labneh. A cold-mezze heading does not mean every dish is raw. If you prefer cooked food, compare the grilled mains and hot mezze instead of relying on an unfamiliar name.

  3. 03

Read the extras in vegetable dishes

Fatteh includes yogurt, almonds, cashews and brown butter. Arnabeet Mekle pairs cauliflower with raisins, hazelnuts and tarator; Warak Selek includes labneh and pine nuts. Vegetables in the title do not settle dairy or nut ingredients. Ask about the full preparation if they affect your choice.

Questions before choosing Suraya

How do Kafta and Halabi Kebab differ?

Kafta is ground beef with herbs and cumin. Halabi is ground lamb brushed with muhammara, which contains walnuts. Both entries list hummous and charred vegetables; protein and coating are the useful comparison.

Is every dish under cold mezze raw?

No. The menu explicitly calls Kibbeh Nayyeh raw lamb and Samke Nayyeh raw yellowtail. Other cold entries are different preparations, including chickpea dip and strained yogurt. Read each description.

Can I use this as the complete Taste of Suraya menu?

No. The guide and saved menu show dinner examples. The official whole-party format has selection rules and a chef-selected dessert; confirm what applies to your meal. Brunch, lunch and event menus are separate.
