Buddakan menu: compare fillings and shared dishes
Start with the dumpling filling, then decide whether you want raw tuna, cooked fish or whole duck. Read rice and vegetable accompaniments as carefully as the headline protein.

Three comparisons before you order
Ingredient-based starting points, without tasting claims or a popularity ranking.
Edamame, mushroom, pork or mixed seafood
Compare the dumpling filling
Edamame Dumplings name a truffled Sauternes-shallot broth; a vegetable filling does not establish the whole dish’s ingredients. Lobster Egg Rolls also list shrimp and Thai basil. Cantonese Spring Rolls combine shrimp and chicken, while the sampler mixes pork, chicken, shrimp and edamame: neither is a seafood-only selection.
A pizza name can still mean raw fish
Read the tuna preparation
Tuna Pizza lists tuna carpaccio, spicy aïoli, pickled jalapeño and ponzu; do not assume baked tuna or a cheese pizza. Sashimi is another raw-fish direction. Compare these with Miso Black Cod and its bok choy, shiitake and unagi sauce; ask about preparation when avoiding raw fish.
Butter, egg and protein are separate decisions
Choose rice by the full ingredient line
Garlic Fried Rice includes browned butter and chive flowers. Crab Fried Rice includes scrambled egg and cilantro; Peking Duck and Korean Beef Fried Rice have a sunny-side-up egg. A rice headline does not establish dairy-free or egg-free ingredients. Compare the entire combination before choosing.
Build a shared order around differences
The official site describes sharing. Use the menu’s contrasts without treating them as a portion estimate.
01
Pick a dim sum direction
Compare edamame with broth, mushroom potstickers with pickled lotus root and ponzu, or pork wontons with chili oil and pickled mustard greens. Choosing different fillings is more informative than ordering every dumpling simply because it is dim sum.
02
Choose fish or whole duck deliberately
Whole Peking Duck lists moo shu pancakes, cucumber and scallion. Crispy Whole Fish lists black bean sauce and scallion/ginger salad. Compare those accompaniments with the fish choice; confirm the current serving format and quantity with staff.
03
Check the vegetable and dessert details
Wasabi Mashed Potatoes include crème fraîche; Curried Cauliflower names cashews, and Chinese Eggplant names pine nuts. “Dip Sum” Doughnuts include ginger cream cheese alongside sauces. Vegetable and dessert labels alone do not establish dietary suitability.
Before choosing Buddakan
Is Tuna Pizza cooked fish?
The reviewed ingredient line names tuna carpaccio. Treat it as a raw-fish decision and confirm preparation with staff rather than infer cooking from pizza.
Are Lobster Egg Rolls only lobster?
No. The current menu also names shrimp and Thai basil. Cantonese Spring Rolls are another mixed filling, with shrimp and chicken.
Can this guide identify safe vegan or allergy options?
No. The official dietary page says information is still being prepared and asks guests to discuss restrictions directly. Confirm sauces, stocks, modifications and cross-contact with staff.
