Kimball House menu: compare the preparation, not just the protein

Oysters New Tokyo and Wood-Fired Oysters take different directions. Caviar service and Caviar & Middlins are separate dishes. The steak section makes cut and accompaniments another decision. Start with these distinctions before choosing.

Three ways to narrow the Kimball House menu

Compare named ingredients and formats, without claiming a popularity ranking.

Granita and nuoc cham, or a heated butter preparation

Oysters New Tokyo or Wood-Fired Oysters

New Tokyo lists granita and nuoc cham; the wood-fired option lists butter and potato crumble. The saved butter is jalapeño-basil, while the reviewed source now says summer pepper butter. Keep that version difference in mind rather than assuming the same seasoning today.

Accompaniments or a rice-grits dish

Caviar service or Caviar & Middlins

The primary caviar-service section lists johnny cakes, brioche, crème fraîche, herbs, preserved lemon and shallot. Caviar & Middlins separately lists Carolina gold rice grits, confit egg yolk and potato crumble. Choose the format, not just the word caviar.

Different named cuts with a listed accompaniment set

Filet Mignon, NY Strip or Ribeye

The steak choices have shared accompaniments in the captured menu: potato pavé, vegetables, onion ring and bordelaise. Compare the cut you want, then confirm today’s plate; do not treat the supplement section as a second list of full steak dinners.

Read the accompaniments before settling your order

A dish name can leave out an ingredient that matters to you.

  1. 01

Look past the lettuce in pork wraps

Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps list pineapple kimchi, radish, sambal honey, cilantro and peanuts. Lettuce is the serving format, not a promise that the dish is only meat and greens.

  2. 02

    Compare dairy in sides

Kale Caesar Salad lists Parmesan and crispy shallot. Fingerling Potatoes list Peruvian mint aioli and Parmigiano-Reggiano. A vegetable or potato name alone does not establish a cheese-free dish.

  3. 03

Keep raw preparations separate from hot dishes

Beef Tartare and Snapper Crudo are distinct from the steak dinners and snapper entrée. Use the preparation name when asking questions; this guide does not certify raw-dish suitability or safety.
