A menu translator is useful when it helps you choose between dishes. With SeEat, photograph or upload the menu, read the explanations in your language and compare a few options before asking staff about the details that matter to you.
From the menu to your choice
1. Photograph or upload
Open SeEat and capture a readable menu page, including headings and notes.
2. Understand each dish
Compare original names, explanations and AI reference images in English, Chinese or Spanish.
3. Decide what to order
Compare dishes for your taste, check the printed menu and confirm important details with staff.
Read the original name beside the explanation
A translated name alone may not settle whether you want the dish. Keep the original name handy so you can point to the correct item, then compare its preparation, ingredients and accompanying sauce.
If two dishes sound similar, choose one question that separates them: which is served hot, which is fried, or whether a sauce can come separately. Treat an unclear explanation as a question, not a fact.
Common menu languages: use examples, not a word-for-word guess
English “grilled fish”, German “gegrillter Fisch”, Portuguese “peixe grelhado” and French “poisson grillé” are examples of grilled-fish wording. Use them as reading clues; the fish, sides and sauce still need checking on the actual menu.
For a Spanish or Italian menu, use the dedicated guides below when a dish name needs more context. SeEat’s diner interface and localized results are available in English, Chinese and Spanish; this is separate from the language printed on the menu.
Turn your shortlist into an order
Compare a dish you recognize with one unfamiliar option. Use reference images for the type of dish, then return to the printed menu for the item name and current price. Confirm any dietary requirement directly with the restaurant.
Before you order
Does translation guarantee the ingredients?
No. AI explanations can be incomplete or inaccurate. Ask about the specific ingredient, preparation and cross-contact concern before ordering.
Do I need an account or a subscription?
The web app checks available menu credits before creating a menu. When credits are exhausted, it can ask you to sign in or show subscription options. Check the app for your current allowance and plan; unlimited free use is not promised.
Are images and dietary labels verified by the restaurant?
No. Images are AI-generated references, not photographs of the restaurant’s dishes. Explanations and dietary or allergen labels can be inaccurate. Confirm any important ingredient or preparation detail with staff before ordering.
Use it with the menu in front of you
Compare a few dishes and choose what appeals to you. AI images are references; confirm ingredients, preparation and dietary requirements with the restaurant.
